First-Year Students' Yard Games 2026

The event is intended for first-year students in the primary teacher education programme at the University of Jyväskylä.

First-year students' yard games are held on the grass area at Mattilanniemi on Thursday 3.9.2026 from 6 p.m. The event is free, but register between 27.8. at 12:00 and 2.9. at 15:00 so we can reserve enough games. Participation in the games is optional - hanging out and cheering work just as well. 🌞

At the same location, a picnic is held for older year groups, so there will be games and socialising between year groups too 😎. Dress according to the weather and bring something to drink - the event is OPM (bring your own bottle).
