Riie Heikkilä as Author Guest

Vantaa Libraries' autumn author tour 2026 explores the future from the perspectives of everyday life, society, and imagination. The tour is organized by Vantaa Culture and Library Services and continues in Vantaa libraries from 2.9 to 28.11.2026.

Riie Heikkilä visits Myyrmäki Library on Wednesday 4.11.2026 at 18:00. Heikkilä discusses her book Why Did We Stop Reading? A Sociological Interpretation of Changes in Reading (Gaudeamus, 2024), which won the State Prize for Information Dissemination in 2025. The work examines the societal causes of reading changes in Finland: the growth of inequality and the resulting differentiation of reading habits and shifts in leisure reading.
