Creative Nerd 1996-2026

Creative Nerd 1996-2026 is an exhibition exploring 30 years of commercial internet history in Finland. It spans from the 1990s technology boom through the early mobile era, the first steps of social media, and an AI-shaped internet future - bringing together industry pioneers, retro phenomena, and media art.

The exhibition features video art, interactive and participatory media art works, and a speculative interactive sculpture about the internet's future. The artists are Roberto Fusco, Calvin Guillot, Merle Karp, and xyny. Also on display are an immersive 1990s workplace, retro equipment, and video interviews with Finnish digital pioneers - including Jaakko Alajoki, Markus Grannenfelt, Asmo Halinen, Jani Halme, Julius Haukkasalo, Milja Köpsi, Tuomo Riekki, Heikki Rotko, and Johanna Sarviharju.

The exhibition is curated by Samuli Hokkanen, Olli Maksimainen, Jani Ruotsalainen, and Jussi Salolainen.
