Muhos and Leppiniemi - From Past to Future

A research project from the University of Oulu organizes a workshop and small art exhibition on Saturday, October 3rd from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM in the Local History Room at Koivu ja Tähti cultural centre in Muhos.

The workshop brings together memories and stories about Muhos and Leppiniemi, discusses changes in the area, and explores its future. The research examines the industrial past, present, and future of Muhos and Leppiniemi - particularly the history of Pyhäkoski power plant and Leppiniemi, as well as thoughts sparked by a planned data centre for the region. Participation is free, and coffee and light refreshments are provided.

The workshop and survey are organized by researcher Anna Niia Varfolomeeva, artist Kati Paporotskaya, and anthropology student Julia Virpi from the University of Oulu. The activity is supported by the University of Oulu's DATAVOID, SAFIRE, and FRONT research programmes.
