Residents' Preparedness Evening

The Residents' Preparedness Evening is held on 24.9.2026 from 17.30 to 19.30 at Maunun Upper School (Talkootie 5, 21290 Rusko). The event is organized by Leader Varsin Hyvä, the Finnish Red Cross Varsinais-Suomi District, Varsinais-Suomi Villages, and the Private Homeowners Association. The evening is free and open to all residents of the area - membership in the association is not required.

The evening focuses on 72-hour self-sufficiency: how a household can manage independently if a power outage, water pump failure, or winter storm cuts off connections. The programme covers the basics of home preparedness (food, water, medicines, light sources), water and heating solutions without electricity, and communication during a crisis. In a practical workshop, table groups map the resources of their own residential area and work together with neighbours to solve a hypothetical winter storm scenario. Participants also receive a Village Supplies checklist and other free materials to take home.

The evening includes coffee service, for which registration is requested by 18.9.2026.
