Creative Destruction - Johan Eichhorn's Photo Series

Johan Eichhorn's exhibition "Creative Destruction" transposes interventions in nature into human living environments. Forest roads, ditches, and dams do not cut through forests or drain wetlands - they appear in people's homes and everyday spaces.

In staged photographs, familiar surroundings transform into something strange. In this way, the exhibition makes visible the reshaping of nature, which has gradually become an almost imperceptible part of our daily lives. The exhibition offers no ready-made answers but invites viewers to reflect on why we accept in nature what we would never accept in our own living environments.

Johan Eichhorn is a Finnish-German photographer and theatre director whose work has been shown in museums, galleries, and theatres in Finland and abroad. In his photographic art, he examines social phenomena through staged and narrative photographs.

The exhibition is on display at the Natural History Museum's PopUp platform from 1.9.2026 to 10.1.2027.
