The Drawing Hall

The legendary Drawing Hall of the University of Helsinki visits the Science Museum Liekki exhibition centre from 16.9 to 12.12.2026. The exhibition presents the history of drawing instruction at the university, which traces back to the Royal Academy of Turku in the 18th century.

On display are the Drawing Hall's plaster cast collection and works by artists who studied there - from Finland's so-called golden age of art to the present day. Also featured are works by the Drawing Hall's current instructor, drawing master Vappu Ross.

You can also draw in the exhibition: plaster sculptures are available for independent drawing at the museum's admission price. You can bring your own drawing materials or borrow them from the exhibition.
