Chuck Berry turns 100 on October 18, 2026. Berry is rightly considered one of rock'n'roll's most important pioneers - "Roll Over Beethoven", "Johnny B. Goode", "Rock'n'Roll Music", "Maybelline", "Reelin' And Rockin'", "Carol" - these classics are the very heart of rock'n'roll played in thousands of clubs around the world. The genius of Berry's songs lies in their simple form, which has inspired covers from Rauli Badding Somerjoki to Hellacopters and from Jimi Hendrix to Judas Priest.

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, Bar Loose's basement will pay tribute to both Berry's original works and songs inspired by him. Musicians from punk, country, and rock'n'roll have joined forces and rehearsed their sets for this evening.

One Dozen Berrys does what the name promises: plays a dozen Chuck Berry classics - and if that's not enough, a dozen more. The band doesn't stick to the original versions but enriches the sound with influences from the Rollers to Johnny Winter and Georgia Satellites. Three rotating lead singers keep the set varied. "My Ding-a-Ling" is not on the setlist, not even after three dozen songs. Lineup: Toni Ruuska (vocals and guitar), Pasi Rytkönen (vocals and guitar), Hara Saanio (vocals and piano), Jan Smedberg (bass), Marko "Loudi" Bergman (drums).

The Komets combines rock'n'roll, garage, soul, and punk. The band made a comeback in 2025 with the album "Mighty Long Way", which Yle's country expert Teppo Nättilä described as "one of the year's wildest rock records". Since then, two singles have been released: "Sea Cruise" and "Walking Talking Johnny Cash Blues", released in spring.
