Afterparty: Ivo Dimchev

Ivo Dimchev is a Bulgarian theatre maker, choreographer, singer-songwriter, visual artist and queer activist whose work moves freely between concert, performance, dance, theatre and visual art. He has created over 40 stage works, received numerous international awards and performed at major festivals across Europe and North and South America. Since 2023 he has been in an artist residency at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York.

Dimchev's performances combine exceptional musicality, physical boldness, dark humour and uncompromising honesty. His voice ranges from deep baritone to soprano heights, and in his songs he addresses love, desire, sexuality, death, power and the artist's position - simultaneously serious, vulnerable and mischievous. Expression moves effortlessly between masculine and feminine.

Dimchev performs alone, relying on his voice, songs and stage presence. This is not an ordinary concert: music becomes unpredictable performance art where sensitivity and provocation, beauty and absurdity, the personal and the political collide.
