The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra presents Swedish violinist Ava Bahari as soloist, with conductor Nicholas Collon. Bahari gained international recognition after winning the Aurora Competition in Stockholm in 2019.

The evening's centrepiece is the world premiere of Antti Auvinen's new violin concerto, commissioned by Yle. Collon frames it with Ralph Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 11 "The Year 1905".

Before the concert on 7 October at 18:00-18:30 in the Lower Foyer, composer Antti Auvinen discusses his new violin concerto in an interview with Eva Tigerstedt.
