Voimaeläin - Children's Rights Week at Vuotalo | Performance for Preschool and School Groups

Voimaeläin is an interactive dance theatre performance that actively engages children. The characters Kaisla, Kiira and Tuisku read fables to each other - ancient stories in animal tale form with moral lessons - and become inspired to search for their own power animals among Nordic creatures. The audience joins the search through a guessing game, learning about the characteristics of northern animals and the beliefs connected to them.

The performance raises questions about the value of animals and humans: what should an animal receive from a human, and what can a human gain from an animal? Through animal characteristics, children can reflect on their own abilities and strengths.

The Friday 20 November performance is for preschool and school groups - register at kultus.hel.fi. The Saturday 21 November public performance has tickets available at lippu.fi.
