About the venue

Metso is Tampere's main public library, opened in 1986. The building was designed by architects Raili and Reima Pietilä, whose organic, sculptural form is said to resemble a capercaillie - "metso" in Finnish. Alongside its library services, the venue regularly hosts exhibitions and cultural events.
