Katso tarkemmat esteettömyystiedot G Livelabin sivuilta. Yhdysvaltalainen EBM-duo Youth Code palaa keikkalavoille viiden vuoden tauon jälkeen ja tuo kiertueensa myös Suomeen. Yhtye esiintyy Helsingin On the Rocksissa torstaina 11. kesäkuuta ja Tampereen G Livelabissa perjantaina 12. kesäkuuta.
Sara Taylorin ja Ryan Georgen luotsaaman Youth Coden musiikissa voi kuulla vaikutteita mm. New Orderin ja Depeche Moden tuotannosta mutta selvästi raskaampana ja aggressiivisempana. Yhtyeen synth-popia ja dance rockia yhdistelevää musiikkia onkin kuvailtu teräksisen industrialin ja hardcoresta kumpuavan angstin kipinöiväksi liitoksi.
Keväällä 2025 ilmestynyttä Yours, With Malice EP:tä värittävät 90-luvun industrial metalin ja konegrooven vaikutteet. Vangitsevat melodiat ja Sanford Parkerin jykevä tuotanto, jossa viilatut ja lattian läpi jyrisevät rumpusoundit nousevat keskiöön, kuljettavat levyä eteenpäin. Albumin tekeminen on ollut yhtyeelle myös matka kohti pohdintaa kokoonpanon olemassaolosta ja sen seuraavista askeleista.
Bändi saavutti suurta suosiota ja lehdistön ylistystä ennen pandemia-aikaa. Yhtyeen varhaiset julkaisut A Place to Stand (2014) ja Commitment to Complications (2016) veivät Youth Coden kiertueille mm. Chelsea Wolfen ja Skinny Puppyn kanssa sekä isoille areenoille My Chemical Romancen ja Nine Inch Nailsin rinnalle.
Vuonna 2026 Youth Code juhlistaa paluutaan laajalla maailmankiertueella. Suomessa heidät on nähty viimeksi vuonna 2018 Carpenter Brutin lämmittelijänä Helsingin The Circuksessa, ja nyt kaksikko nousee ensi kertaa parrasvaloihin omilla klubikeikoillaan.

The band will perform at On the Rocks in Helsinki on Thursday, June 11, and at G Livelab in Tampere on Friday, June 12.Led by Sara Taylor and Ryan George, Youth Code’s music draws influences from the likes of New Order and Depeche Mode, but with a distinctly heavier and more aggressive edge. Their sound—blending synth-pop and dance rock—has been described as a volatile fusion of steely industrial and angst rooted in hardcore.Released in spring 2025, the Yours, With Malice EP is colored by influences from ’90s industrial metal and machine groove. Captivating melodies and Sanford Parker’s powerful production—featuring finely tuned, floor-rattling drum sounds—drive the record forward. The making of the EP also marked a period of reflection for the band, as they considered their future and next steps.The band gained significant popularity and critical acclaim prior to the pandemic. Their early releases, A Place to Stand (2014) and Commitment to Complications (2016), took Youth Code on tour with artists such as Chelsea Wolfe and Skinny Puppy, as well as to major arenas alongside My Chemical Romance and Nine Inch Nails.In 2026, Youth Code celebrates its return with an extensive world tour. The band was last seen in Finland in 2018 as support for Carpenter Brut at The Circus in Helsinki, and now the duo steps into the spotlight for their first-ever headlining club shows in the country.
