Aija Puurtinen (born 1959, Juva) is a Finnish singer, bassist and composer who rose to prominence as the frontwoman of Honey B & T-Bones, a blues-rock band she co-founded in the early 1980s with guitarist Esa Kuloniemi, her husband. Beyond the band, she holds a doctorate in music from the Sibelius Academy (2010) - the first such degree awarded in pop music - and works there as a lecturer in pop and jazz singing. She has also released solo records, led the Finnish-American folk project Aija Puurtinen & Brooklynin satu, and composed for contemporary-music ensembles.
Honey B & T-Bones released 'Vanha suru' on 30 January 2026 - the band's first-ever Finnish-language single, written and composed by Puurtinen.
Honey B & T-Bones announced an active 2026 concert season with shows booked in Joensuu, Hämeenlinna, Helsinki, Tampere and Pori.
Aija Puurtinen & Brooklynin satu released their fourth studio album 'Julmat jäähyväiset' on 4 April 2025.
Puurtinen served as a vocal coach and expert juror for Finland's Eurovision selection UMK 2025.
Puurtinen contributed vocals to Iro Haarla's Ouranos Ensemble album 'Under the Firmament', released in November 2024.
