Pekko Käppi

About

Pekko Käppi is a Finnish musician specialising in the jouhikko, an ancient Finnish bowed lyre, and archaic runo-singing rooted in the Kalevala tradition. He is one of the few performers keeping this rare practice alive, often blending it with experimental soundscapes. He has collaborated with accordionist Maria Kalaniemi on the album Tåreportens Pärla.
