Allie X (born Alexandra Ashley Hughes, 31 July 1985) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and visual artist from Ontario who built her name in the Toronto indie scene before relocating to Los Angeles in 2013. Her 2014 debut single "Catch" drew attention from Katy Perry and Time magazine, launching a career that spans six studio albums and a devoted cult following in alternative pop. Known for total creative control - writing, producing, and art-directing her own work - she moves between synth-pop, avant-garde pop, and baroque-tinged electronics, most recently on the 2025 album Happiness Is Going to Get You.
