Emeka Ogboh (born 1977, Enugu, Nigeria) is a Berlin-based sound and installation artist whose practice centres on field recordings of urban life - above all the sonic world of Lagos - as a way into questions of migration, memory, and postcolonial identity. His work has been shown at the 56th Venice Biennale, documenta 14, the São Paulo Biennial, Tate Modern, and MoMA, and he also records and releases music under his own Danfotronics label.
Ogboh was named one of ten winners of the Chanel Next Prize 2026, receiving a €100,000 grant and a two-year mentorship programme.
A solo presentation of Ogboh's sound installation The Song of the Germans opened at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum in St. Louis, with a special artist presentation on 26 March 2026.
Ogboh presented the new work The Way Earthly Things Are Going II (Mother Earth's Lament) at the 36th São Paulo Biennial.
Ogboh's sound art installation Ties That Bind was featured in the largest African art exhibition at the Saint Louis Art Museum, running through February 2025.
