Eric Harland (born November 8, 1976, Houston, Texas) is an American jazz drummer widely regarded as one of the most in-demand percussionists of his generation, with credits on close to 500 recordings. He came up through Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts - the same school as Robert Glasper and Beyoncé - and later studied at the Manhattan School of Music. A long-standing member of Charles Lloyd's Quartet and Dave Holland's Prism, he also co-leads the supergroup James Farm with Joshua Redman and has won DownBeat Critics Poll honors for Rising Star on the Drums.
