Liisa Matveinen is a Finnish folk singer known for her work in the runosong and Kalevala-metre singing tradition. For decades she has collaborated with composer Tellu Turkka, researching and performing songs from historical female runosingers such as Mateli Kuivalatar. The duo blends original compositions with arrangements of ancient folk melodies, accompanied by kantele and other traditional instruments.
