American blues and jazz guitarist Robben Ford takes the stage at the JazzKukko 2026 festival in Laitila.
Robben Ford (born 1951, Woodlake, California) is an American guitarist whose playing draws on blues, jazz, rock and funk - often within a single solo. A five-time Grammy nominee, he has worked as a sideman and collaborator with Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison and Bob Dylan, among many others, and was named one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of the 20th Century by Musician magazine. Now based in London, he has released over 16 albums under his own name across a career spanning more than five decades.
Ford released his latest studio album Two Shades of Blue via Provogue/Artone, recorded in both the US and UK with two different bands.
Ford released 'Perfect Illusion' as the second single from Two Shades of Blue, a brass-laced soul ballad written in 1999.
Ford announced Two Shades of Blue and released lead single 'Make My Own Weather', a groove-driven blues track partly conceived as a tribute to Jeff Beck.
Ford relocated to London, UK, citing the city as a source of fresh musical inspiration.
Ford toured Italy with an all-star band including Rolling Stones bassist Darryl Jones, Larry Goldings and Gary Husband for eight concerts in November and December 2024.
