Flow Festival 2026
Helsinki's leading music festival at Suvilahti, featuring a diverse lineup of artists and cultural programming.
The Congos are a Jamaican roots reggae vocal trio formed in the mid-1970s by Cedric Myton (falsetto) and Roydel 'Ashanti Roy' Johnson (tenor), later joined by Watty Burnett (baritone). Their 1977 debut Heart of the Congos, recorded with Lee 'Scratch' Perry at his Black Ark studio, is widely regarded as one of the defining albums of the roots reggae era. The group has toured and recorded on and off ever since, releasing new material as recently as 2025.
The Congos played two sold-out headline shows in Dublin and Cork, Ireland in October 2025, their first headline dates in Ireland in 18 years; lead vocalist Cedric Myton suffered a health episode on stage during the Dublin show but recovered to continue.
The Congos released the Reggae Revival single/EP via VP Records on October 31, 2025, a reissue of the lead track from their 1997 album Revival.
The Congos performed at Sun Splash Reggae Festival 2025 in The Hague, Netherlands and at Öland Roots 2025 in Sandbergen, Sweden in July 2025.
The Congos are confirmed for SummerJam 2026 in Cologne, Germany (July 3-5, 2026) and Cultura Viva 2026 in Calella, Spain (July 12, 2026).
The Congos and The Gladiators completed a joint European tour spanning April to June 2024, with dates across Germany, the Netherlands, France and other countries.
