The Wailers are a Jamaican reggae band formed after Bob Marley's death in 1981 by the surviving members of his backing group, led for decades by bassist Aston "Familyman" Barrett and since 2016 by his son Aston Barrett Jr. Originally founded in Kingston in 1963 by Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, the group helped bring reggae to a global audience and recorded landmark albums such as Catch a Fire, Exodus and the all-time best-selling reggae compilation Legend. Today the band tours relentlessly worldwide, performing Marley's classics alongside material from their Grammy-nominated 2024 album Evolution.
