ZZ Top is a Texas blues-rock trio formed in Houston in 1969 by guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard. The band held the same lineup for 51 years - until Hill's death in 2021 - and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Their 1983 album Eliminator sold over 10 million copies and turned the band into MTV-era icons, while their catalogue of riff-driven boogie rock has kept them one of the most active live acts in classic rock.
