Dhamal World Collective | Kasvu - Etno-Espa - Children's Saturday — Espan lava, Helsinki

At Etno-Espa's children's Saturday, discover what happens when Indian and Ostrobothnian rhythms meet - and explore nature's diverse landscapes and creatures.

14.00 | Dhamal World Collective: Findia express

Charlotta Kerbs (Finland) and Sanjay Khan (India) unite the music of their own cultures in Dhamal World Collective. The performance plays with languages and rhythms, and between songs introduces Indian instruments: tablas, kartal, tanpura and harmonium.

Charlotta Kerbs - vocals, guitar
Sanjay Khan - vocals, mouth organ, tablas, kartal

15.00 | Kasvu: Beloved Landscapes

In Kasvu's concert, inspiration comes from natural landscapes: their own photographs and music bring to the stage a forest scene, a bog and a meadow - and the most attentive will notice that some creature has slipped into these landscapes. The concert presents nature's biodiversity through music, play, contemporary poetry and facts, and various natural landscapes are projected on a screen while the audience reflects together on what creatures live there.

The band's instruments include vocals, string instruments, accordion and percussion, as well as rare folk instruments: mouth harp, kantele, jouhikko and jaw harp. The interactive sections adapt to the audience.

Charlotta Hagfors - vocals, 5-string kantele
Olli Kari - accordion, mandolin, jaw harp, vocals
Oskari Lehtonen - drums, percussion, vocals
Vesa Norilo - cello, vocals
Kirsi Vinkki - violin, jouhikko, mouth harp, vocals

The Konsertikeskus is part of the programme.
