Miss Blomcreutz's House Tour
Ehrensvärd-museo, Helsinki
4-7 €
Welcome to a journey back to the 18th century at the Ehrensvärd Museum! The museum's historical setting comes alive during the summer house tours with Miss Blomcreutz.
Why is the coffee pot hidden? How did the minuet's steps actually go? These questions can be answered by the noblewoman Blomcreutz, an enlightened resident of Viapori.
During Miss Blomcreutz's house tours, the old commandant's house on the fortress square comes to life and invites you to experience the atmosphere of the 18th century in authentic interiors. On the tour you will learn about the museum and what an aristocratic home looked like in the 18th century. You will also hear about the style and manners of the time.
The programme also includes steps from the era's fashionable minuet dance and an introduction to the secrets of fan language. Sofia Ulrika Blomcreutz was the daughter of Colonel Didrik Blomcreutz. Mr. Blomcreutz served as the leader of the fortification works when the fortress's founder Augustin Ehrensvärd was away.
