JOLLY JUMPERS MOBILE BABYLON 20v - ANNIVERSARY CONCERTS IN TAMPERE AND HELSINKI IN JULY

Finnish alternative rock pioneers Jolly Jumpers celebrate the 20th anniversary of their classic album Mobile Babylon with special concerts in Tampere and Helsinki.

Mobile Babylon, released in 2006, was a significant milestone in the band's long career and is considered one of the finest Finnish albums of the 2000s. Guitarist Arimatti Jutila shares his thoughts ahead of the upcoming anniversary shows: "Jolly Jumpers are riding high right now. The band already has a substantial legacy, but we're still creating powerful new music, and on stage we sound better than ever. We're playing extended sets in Tampere and Helsinki featuring the best tracks from Mobile Babylon alongside a comprehensive selection of songs from the band's other albums."

Jolly Jumpers concerts are a rare treat: the band played eight shows last year, all of which sold out quickly. These special concerts celebrating Mobile Babylon are the band's only performances in Tampere and Helsinki during the summer and rest of 2026.

Jolly Jumpers, which began in Tyrnävä in 1980, has been described as earthy American music, tundra garage, and potato-field blues. Their comeback album Rural Slang, released last year, received five stars in nearly every review, topped the physical album chart, and earned Emma nominations in the Alternative Album and Critics' Choice categories.

The core of Jolly Jumpers is the original trio of Petri Hannus, Marko Leuanniemi, and Keijo Pirkola. The current lineup also includes Arimatti Jutila, known from The Flaming Sideburns and Riitaoja, as well as Jukka Nousiainen, who has performed with Iiris and Räjäyttäjät.
