Two heavyweight pioneers, both 30 years old: Viikate and Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus.

The Kymenlaakso rock band Viikate, which has fed Finnish melancholy since 1996, has released 15 full-length albums. The band is a gold record holder, achieving gold status on six of its records. The band started touring in February 2001 and has toured steadily throughout its career.

Timo Rautiainen and Trio Niskalaukaus were formed in 1996 and had an impressive eight-year career on the Finnish heavy rock scene. The band's best-known songs include Nyt on mies!, Surupuku, Lumessakahlaajat, Rajaton rakkaus, Kylmä tila, Hyvä ihminen and Suomi sata vuotta.

The band's seventh studio album Tuomiojärvi, released in September 2025, took the band on tour again to the country's top clubs.
