Ismo Alanko became known to Finnish audiences in 1980 as the singer of Hassisen Kone. Since then, he has boldly and without prejudice renewed Finnish music and held a prominent place in Finnish rock. In addition to Hassisen Kone, he has performed as the singer and frontman of groups such as Sielun Veljiet and Ismo Alanko Säätiö, as well as as a solo artist. He began his solo career in the 1990s, and during that time Alanko has released seven studio albums.

During his over 40-year career, Ismo Alanko has sold nearly 700,000 records, won numerous Emma awards, and sold out tours and concerts in every decade of his career. He has created a unique career in Finnish music as an uncompromising artist, winning the hearts of domestic audiences by constantly creating something new. The musician is known for his insightful lyrics, which have shaped Finnish consciousness throughout his 40-year career.
