Isoviha is an opera created for the Music Festival's 50th anniversary. It tells the story of Russia's invasion of Ostrobothnia - of family bonds, maternal love, and resilience during a time of destruction. The events unfold in the landscape along the Kyronjoki river.
The opera is directed by Tuomas Parkkinen, with a libretto by Anneli Kanto and music by Uljas Pulkkis. Scenography is by Juho Lindström and costumes by Leena Rintala. In addition to the opera, the festival programme includes a diverse range of concerts.
