Baroque Splendour and Beauty II

Vaasa City Orchestra brings Renaissance and Baroque music to Vähäkyrö Church on Thursday, 6 August 2026. Harpsichordist Petteri Pitko leads the programme, featuring works by Monteverdi, Gabrieli, Bach and Handel. The ensemble includes Wasa Consort and gambists Elena Hämäläinen and Eero Marttila, with violone player Pontus Grans. Vähäkyrö Church is a grey stone medieval building from the 14th century, known for its well-preserved medieval frescoes. The orchestra performs at eight other Finnish venues during autumn and winter, but this concert is the only one in Vähäkyrö. Admission costs 2-34 euros.
