Welcome to Muurame Church

Muurame Church was completed in 1929 based on Alvar Aalto's designs. The church's details reflect influences from Aalto's honeymoon in Northern Italy: a campanile-style bell tower, small windows set high on the walls, a sun shelter on the side wing, the church's colour palette, and the surrounding wall. Architecturally, the church represents Nordic classicism.

Exception to opening hours: on Midsummer's Eve, Friday 19 June, the church is closed.
