Muurame Church was completed in 1929 based on designs by architect Alvar Aalto. The church displays several influences from Aalto's honeymoon trip to Northern Italy: a Campanile-style bell tower, small windows set high on the walls, the sun shelter of the side wing, the church's colour palette, and the wall surrounding the church. Architecturally, the church represents Nordic classicism.
