MAMA - a performance about motherhood

MAMA is a solo dance theatre work by artist Susanna Abaijón-Karvinen from Loviisa that explores the contradictory and often unspoken reality of motherhood. The work combines dance, physical theatre, video and sound, taking the audience to the edge of a mother's bodily and emotional experiences - love, exhaustion, strength and transformation. The stage presents a portrait of contemporary motherhood and the various roles of a mother.
The video, music and soundscape were created by musician Samuel Abaijón. Direction, choreography, set design and costumes: Susanna Abaijón-Karvinen.
The performance is part of Valtimoteatteri's guest programme. Duration approximately 1.5 hours, includes an interval. Unnumbered seating. Doors open one hour before the performance - latecomers are not admitted. Discount cards are checked at the door.
Basic ticket: 25 € (includes Tiket service fee). Cultural benefits are accepted as payment method on Tiket. Theatre tickets are reserved at liput@valtimonteatteri.com - the online shop can only be used for purchases, not reservations. An assistant enters free with the assisted person's ticket. Wheelchair access: no.
