Sugar Factory 2026 brings four new short operas to the Alminsali hall of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet: The Mouthpiece, The Request, Emerge: Oops…life! and love is a rebellious bird. The works explore trauma, social status, technology, fantasy and transformation - through rawness, dark humour and touching beauty.

Sugar Factory is a three-year project funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, aimed at supporting the creation of new opera in Finland. To this end, composers, librettists and directors have joined forces to create new short works for the Alminsali hall.

Performances 13.-15.8.2026: 13.8. and 14.8. at 19.00, 15.8. at 13.00 and 19.00. Tickets 10-50 €, duration 1 h 50 min, age recommendation 16+. Performances in Finnish and English, subtitles in Finnish, Swedish and English.
