Creative Hour - Open Art Workshop

Artist Chloé Mahy-Hulkko leads monthly art workshops in Vuotalo's foyer on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. The workshops suit children and adults, materials are provided on-site, and admission is free. Instruction is offered in Finnish, English, and French.

Autumn programme:

Wed 26.8. | Fabric, collage and embroidery
Fabric bags are transformed into a vibrant collage using recycled textiles and an iron. If desired, the bag can be further decorated with embroidery. Children under 8 participate only with an adult.

Wed 23.9. | Pressprint graphics
Introduction to relief printing: lines are carved into a Pressprint plate with a pen, paint is applied with a roller, and the print is made by hand.

Wed 21.10. | Autumn leaves in the mirror
Drawing pencil sketches of tree leaves and exploring nature's symmetry with the help of a mirror.

Wed 25.11. | Many different stars
Star decorations are made from thread and coloured cardboard.

Wed 16.12. | Felted Christmas ornament
Felting is a multi-sensory process that requires patience. The finished ornament can be taken home or given away.
