Library Workshops at Merirastis Cultural Centre

Library staff open the doors of Merirastis Cultural Centre on summer Thursdays from 11 am to 5 pm. Welcome to workshops, games, and magazine reading.

All workshops are free and no advance registration is required. Thursday programme:

2.7. 12-2 pm Friendship Bracelet Workshop and 2-4 pm Bookmark Workshop
The friendship bracelet workshop introduces the traditional Japanese braiding technique "kumihimo" - meaning "gathered threads". Using a simple cord technique, you create colourful patterns that become bracelets or keyring decorations. You'll learn the basics of kumihimo and make your own kumihimo board to take home.

9.7. 12-3 pm Dream House in Miniature Workshop
Build your own dream house in miniature. It can be constructed in a tree, a small cave, or a tiny playhouse.

16.7. 12-3 pm Robot Workshop
Build your own robot figure from recycled materials. Which part becomes the head, which the legs - and what is your robot specialised in?

23.7. 12-3 pm Flower Workshop
Bend drinking straws into flowers using various techniques, which you can arrange into a bouquet or weave into a wreath. These flowers last forever.

30.7. 12-2 pm Circus Workshop, Circus Magenta
Circus Magenta instructors lead a low-threshold circus workshop where you can try different circus equipment. Suitable for all levels, both children and adults, and you can participate in your own way.
