Aili Järvelä Duo

Aili Järvelä is known for her strong folk music background and her work as a singer, songwriter, composer, and performer. She has released solo albums, composed music for professional orchestras, big bands, choirs, and various instrumental ensembles, and performed with award-winning folk music groups.

Järvela's song Roihuvuori (2020) was selected among the 50 best lyrics of the century in a reader poll by Helsingin Sanomat. Her first musical Katrina (2024) received critical acclaim, and her latest solo album VUORI (2025) was nominated for the Emma Award, won the Indie Award for best album of the year, and received the Teosto Prize.

At the concert, Järvela's music is performed with accompaniment by guitarist Sigurður Rögnvaldsson. Rögnvaldsson is a guitarist, composer, and producer based in Helsinki whose work moves between jazz, contemporary music, and free improvisation.
