Author Ari Saastamoinen visits

Author Ari Saastamoinen presents his new book Barbary Pirates - Raids, Religious Wars and Power Struggles in the Mediterranean. The book explores a life filled with piracy, including plundering expeditions that reached as far as Iceland and battles against Europe's great powers.

Saastamoinen (PhD) is a non-fiction writer, teacher and ancient historian whose scholarly work has focused on hieroglyphics. He has also published works on Roman North Africa and the history of board games.

After the event, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions and purchase the book. The event is suitable for all ages.
