Experimental Music Concert

Welcome to experience a unique afternoon of experimental music at Haihatus Art Institute!

The concert brings together handmade string instruments, saxophone and improvisation as seasoned artists Risto Puurunen and Steve Vanoni take the stage. You'll encounter an original musical experience where experimental soundscapes, handcrafted instruments and artistic expression merge together.

Artists

Risto Puurunen is a self-taught visual artist, sculptor and musician, and director of Haihatus Art Institute. He is particularly known as a founding member of the legendary band Cleaning Women, whose hallmark is handmade instruments and distinctive sound. Puurunen also works in contemporary art and film music.

Steve Vanoni is a California-born contemporary artist, saxophonist and outsider art expert. He has collaborated with Risto Puurunen for many years in both visual art and music. Vanoni's work has been shown in several exhibitions at Haihatus, and he has also served as the international manager of Cleaning Women and a guest saxophonist.
