Author Minna Lindgren in Conversation

Minna Lindgren (born 1963) is an author, journalist, and opera expert. Her new novel Seniorikapina is released in late September - a satire that explores the experiences of the baby boomer generation and Finland's political landscape. The baby boomers brought youth culture to Finland, and now they are creating a new senior culture that challenges the image of older people as a burden on society.

A couple of years ago, Soteorpo was published - a humorous and raw account of an exhausted family caregiver's daily life. Lindgren also participated in the project "Varjoja paratiisissa? Muistisairaan ihmisen oikeuksien toteutuminen hyvinvointivaltiossa" and drew on its research data for her novel.

Earlier, Lindgren wrote the popular Ehtoolehto series, which has been translated into nearly 20 languages, as well as several music-focused non-fiction books. She has also written librettos for operas composed by, among others, Iiro Rantala.
