Welcome Day greets newly arrived residents to Helsinki and offers a chance to explore local services, hobbies, and leisure activities in their neighbourhood.

This year's theme is the summer market: Ala-Malmi square transforms into a summer market with a full programme. Säilättärien Metrilaku-menuett combines circus, comedy, and market bustle into a spectacular show. Jay Jay Fun entertains with magic tricks and acrobatics, harmonica artist Seija Vesterinen plays summery market tunes, and the evening concludes with a performance by zamrock band Zangoma. Zangoma is a Finnish-Zambian band that fuses African rhythms with progressive and psychedelic rock.

Bulls and coffee are served. The event is conducted in English, with interpretation available as needed. The event is free and open to everyone.
