About

Zangoma is a Finnish-Zambian band rooted in a vision from 1996, when a local shaman in the village of Kolomwe foresaw the meeting of Zambian singer Waina Kolomwe and three Finnish musicians. The group draws on zamrock - the psychedelic rock tradition of 1970s Zambia - and aims to bring it into the present day. Two members, Riku Pirttiniemi and Miikka Heikkinen, also play in Death Hawks.
