Daniel Lanois (CAN) + Brian Blade & Jim Wilson — Tavastia-klubi, Helsinki

Seven-time Grammy Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter and producer Daniel Lanois performs at Tavastia on September 10 as part of his Scandinavian tour. Joining him are drummer Brian Blade (known for his work with Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones) and bassist Jim Wilson, who has played with The Rolling Stones. This marks the all stars trio's first joint European concerts since 2012.

Lanois gained international recognition in the 1980s while working with Brian Eno on experimental ambient albums, culminating in Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks (1983). As a producer, he has overseen albums by U2, Bob Dylan, Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, and Emmylou Harris, and has released fourteen solo albums. Rolling Stone named him "the most significant producer of the 1980s". His compositional work extends to film and video games: he has composed music for David Lynch's Dune (1984, with Brian Eno and Roger Eno), the Oscar-winning Sling Blade (1996), the Pixies documentary loudQUIETloud (2006), and Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption II (2018).

Tavastia's ground floor is accessible; the entrance has a low threshold with an accessible ramp, and the venue has an accessible restroom. An assistant may enter with the assisted person's regular ticket - when needed, an EU disability card should be presented. Cloakroom service costs 4 € per person, and outerwear and large bags must be left in the cloakroom for security reasons. The service fee shown on the ticket is Ticket's ticketing service fee, not the cloakroom fee. Tavastia maintains zero tolerance for disruptions, harassment, discrimination, violence, and abuse of power - every visitor is expected to commit to the principles of a safer space. Check performance times on Tavastia's website on the day of the concert.
