Closure

Katariina Numminen and Milja Sarkola interpret Nobel laureate Imre Kertesz's novel about history, memory, and the long shadow of the past. Writer B has taken his own life, and his remaining papers fall into the hands of publisher Kesepy (Janne Reinikainen). Kesepy wants to publish them - but a crucial piece is missing from the estate: the novel, whose existence is only hinted at through vague clues.

The search for the lost work develops into a years-long obsession that draws in friends, loved ones, publishing staff, and authorities. At the center of all the stories is writer B, simultaneously present and absent, whose life and death are intertwined with Europe's catastrophes of the last century.
