Konneveden jazzklubi: Jazz Jkl Collective feat. Nina Mya

Jazz Jkl Collective performs in Konnevesi with singer Nina Mya as soloist. Mya has curated the evening's programme from music and stories of the most important female voices to her: the concert features classics made famous by Carmen McRae, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday and Laila Kinnunen, accompanied by narratives about these singers' struggles and triumphs.

Nina Mya (born 1989) has established her position in Finland's music scene both as an orchestra leader and guest soloist. Her expression is rooted in jazz but draws inspiration from soul and gospel. Mya was named Pori Jazz Artist of the Year in 2012 and has released four solo albums as well as one album in collaboration with UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra.

Jazz Jkl Collective is a Jyväskylä-based jazz quartet founded in 2018. The ensemble features guitarist Tuomas Paukku, Grammy-winning pianist Marian Petrescu, bassist Pekka Törmänen and drummer Kasper Halttunen. The Konnevesi concert is part of Jazz Jkl ry's regional club activities, piloted in Konnevesi with support from the Finnish Cultural Foundation's Central Finland fund and the municipality.
