In September, jazz vocalist Nina Mya is the featured guest soloist with Jazz Jkl Collective. She has curated the evening's programme around music and stories from some of jazz's greatest female voices - Carmen McRae, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday and Laila Kinnunen. The concert presents these legendary classics alongside narratives of the singers' struggles and triumphs in both life and love.

Nina Mya (born 1989) has established herself on the Finnish music scene as both a bandleader and guest soloist. Her technical mastery is rooted in jazz, but her tone and expressive depth draw from soul and gospel. Named Pori Jazz Artist of the Year in 2012, Mya has released four solo albums and one album in collaboration with the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra.
