Kanerva (Album Release), Pekka Nisu (Solo)

Kanerva celebrates the release of her new album at Semifinal on 8.10.2026 with her band. The evening opens with singer-songwriter Pekka Nisu performing solo. Tickets at the door 18 €, if available. Check Semifinal's website on the day of the show for set times.

"Liian paljon kauneutta" is Kanerva's fourth solo album, released in September, following her previous album "Perijät" from 2022. In spring, the singles Tyttö and Hotel Medusa were released from the album; the latter won the Yle Radio Suomi jury award. This is the first of Kanerva's albums to feature strings: cello, viola, and violin. The string arrangements blend with the acoustic guitar sound throughout the album. The song lyrics explore childhood memories, the transience of life, and longing for connection with another person.

Kanerva is a Helsinki-born singer-songwriter and writer. Her previous albums Perijät (2022), Kuinka aika pysäytetään (2019), and Paritanssi (2018) have received positive reviews; Kuinka aika pysäytetään was selected for Aux rf's annual list. The record label is Texicalli Records. Kanerva also writes lyrics for other artists and musical theatre works, and writes and directs children's theatre.
