Timo Lassy - When the Saxophone Returns (concert + film screening)

An evening with Timo Lassy includes a film screening starting at 18:00 and a concert starting at 20:00. Doors open at 17:00. At 19:30 there is an intermission, during which those who purchased concert-only tickets may enter.

Directed by Petri Luukkainen, "When the Saxophone Returns" combines music documentary and portrait. The film follows saxophonist Timo Lassy's preparation for his first solo performance - capturing both the musician and his instrument in an unusually intimate way. Lassy asks himself what makes him happy as a person and an artist, and these moments of self-reflection reveal that the jazz musician who has traveled the world sometimes doubts himself. The film has English subtitles.

The film is followed by a concert with Timo Lassy Band. Joining Lassy on stage are Georgios Kontrafouris (piano), Antti Lötjönen (bass), Abdissa "Mamba" Assefa (percussion) and Okko Saastamoinen (drums).

The ticket price includes a 3 € service fee. Student tickets require a student ID or other proof of enrollment. An assistant may enter free of charge with the person being assisted on the same ticket. The event is wheelchair accessible, and an accessible restroom is available. There is no wheelchair ramp.
