Hajuvesi

Youssef Asad Alkhatib was six years old when his teacher told him that his biological mother had died. The shocked boy believed his stepmother was a murderer and wanted revenge - his weapon was a perfume whose scent has followed him ever since.

Hajuvesi is Asad Alkhatib's monologue about the events of his life. Alkhatib, born in Palmyra, Syria in 2000, first left his homeland alone to Greece, then came to Finland as a minor quota refugee without family - where his powerful determination to become an actor at 16 showed the way from day one. The production premiered in 2022.
