Tanssin Aika 2026: Guhte gullá / Here to here - Video Installation

Young dancers move through the anguish of world destruction, sheltered in a cave, calling upon forgotten Sámi goddesses Uksáhkkán, Juoksáhkkán and Sáráhkkán. The relationship with the earth and the ancestors dwelling within it is awakening - it is time to recover the sacred held in the earth's embrace.

In this work, different generations listen to the voice of foremothers through dance and Sámi traditional craft, duodji. The first collaborative piece by Birit & Katja Haarlan and Outi Pieskin emerges from their own mother-daughter relationship. The space is filled with Tuomo Purasen's ritualistic, pulsing electronic music and Mari Boinen's joik, calling for transformation and the message of ancestors.
